5 Questions About Carpet Cleaning in Port Elizabeth
Before you book a carpet clean, you want to know what you are getting. Will the carpet be wet all day? Do you have to empty the room? And will that mark actually come out?
These questions come up in our conversations with customers in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha. Here is what to know before we arrive.
1. Do you vacuum first, and how do you clean the carpet?
Yes. For a hot water extraction clean, we vacuum first, then pre-spray and work on the dirty areas before washing and extracting with the carpet-cleaning machine.
We also offer low moisture cleaning, called encapsulation. It uses less water and can suit maintenance cleaning or a space where drying time matters. The choice depends on the carpet and its condition.
Tell us when it was last cleaned and what you are trying to deal with. A carpet that needs a thorough clean after years of use may need a different approach from one that is regularly maintained.
2. How long will my carpet take to dry?
It depends on the method, the weather and the airflow through the room.
Hot water extraction leaves the carpet damp. Allow several hours for drying, and tell us before booking if you need to use the room again at a particular time. Damp weather and poor ventilation can make drying slower.
Low moisture cleaning generally dries sooner, but it should still be chosen because it suits the job. Ask us which method we recommend and what drying time to allow for your booking.
After cleaning, open the windows where practical to get air moving through the room. If rain is forecast and you are worried about drying, raise it with us before the appointment.
3. Will all the stains and pet smells come out?
We cannot guarantee complete stain removal. Some marks lift, some improve, and some are permanent damage rather than dirt.
Tell us what caused the mark, how long it has been there and what you have already used on it. That history helps us assess the job and arrive prepared.
Pet urine also needs a separate conversation. Repeated accidents can affect more than the visible surface of the carpet. Cleaning the top may not resolve a smell coming from underneath.
We would rather explain the limits before starting than promise you a result the carpet cannot give us.
4. Do I need to move all the furniture?
Start by clearing the smaller loose items from the rooms being cleaned. It makes access easier and gives the team more space to work.
Ask us about the larger furniture when you book. Whether a bed or another item can be moved depends on its weight and how it is set up. Do not assume that heavy cupboards, dressing tables, televisions or computers will be moved as part of the clean.
If cleaning underneath a particular item matters to you, mention it beforehand so we can agree on access.
5. What do you need to give me a quote?
Tell us your suburb, which rooms need cleaning and whether you mean fitted carpets or loose rugs. Include the lounge, passages and stairs if you want those cleaned too.
For loose rugs, send the dimensions and photographs. Tell us the material if you know it.
Mention urine, vomit, strong smells or a particular stain at the start. Photos help us understand what you mean, although they cannot establish everything about the condition of a carpet.
The clearer the description, the easier it is to quote for the work you actually need.
Tell us about your carpets
WhatsApp True Clean with your suburb, the rooms you want cleaned and a photo of the spot you are concerned about. Tell us if timing or furniture access is a concern. We can then discuss the clean and confirm a quote before booking.
