Pest control in Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth

A clean house gets them too

Pests come in for warmth, water and something to eat. That is the whole story.

Cockroaches sit in the warm spot behind the fridge where the condensation runs down the back. Ants follow a trail to whatever they found in the kitchen. Bed bugs arrive in a suitcase. None of it is a verdict on how you keep your home, and the tidiest kitchen in Gqeberha has the same warm spot behind the same fridge.

Seven years of this now. Houses mostly, offices and business premises too.

What we get called out for

Each of these has a page of its own, with the signs to look for, what the treatment involves and what it costs.

  • Cockroaches. Flush and vacuum, then bait into the cupboards and the places a spray can’t reach.
  • Ants. Identify the species, find the nest, bait it and seal the way in.
  • Bed bugs. Spray plus ULV fogging, with a follow-up two weeks later that isn’t optional.
  • Birds and bird lice. Nest removal, lice treatment, and proofing the roof so it doesn’t happen again.
  • Rats and mice. Locked bait stations on the runs, then closing up the ways in.
  • Fleas and ticks. The carpet holds more of them than the animal does, so the house gets treated, not just the dog.

Wood borer is a different job with a different certificate, and that’s on the wood borer page.

What to expect on the day

Everyone and every pet needs to be out of the house for at least 90 minutes after we spray. Fish tanks get covered, because otherwise the fish don’t make it.

Don’t wash the floors for a week afterwards. Vacuuming is completely fine. Washing lifts the treatment straight back off and you’ll be phoning us again in a month wondering what went wrong.

If it’s a heavy cockroach infestation, empty the kitchen cupboards before we arrive if you can face it. It lets us flush and vacuum properly and it brings the numbers down a lot faster.

About the follow-ups

They’re priced below, and they’re not automatic.

Some jobs need one and plenty don’t. We’ll tell you honestly which yours is once we’ve seen it, and a big infestation usually does.

Fleas live in the carpet more than they live on the animal, so if the carpet is due a clean anyway we can quote the two together. That side of it is on the carpet page.

Bird lice

Spray plus ULV fogging. Closing up to three holes inside the roof is included, and any after that are R29 each.

Holes on the outside of the roof need a look before we can price them.

Bird proofing. Nest removal and closing two holes is R1 380. Anything bigger than that we come and quote.

All prices include VAT. Rodent work is quoted per property.

Newton Park, Sydenham and Algoa Park are inside the Gqeberha price. Further out there’s a travel charge, and the whole list of where we come out to is on the homepage with the charges on the prices page.

Prices can change. We keep the site up to date as best we can, and the price we quote you before we start is the one you pay.
