Bird control and bird proofing in Gqeberha
Pigeons and starlings in a roof are noisy, and the mess they leave is corrosive.
Then there’s bird lice, which is the part nobody sees coming. Once the nest is empty they come down into the house looking for something else to feed on, and people spend weeks being bitten with no idea where it’s coming from.
Taking the nest out is only half of it. Closing up the way back in is the part that lasts.
No two buildings are the same
There are a lot of ways to deter a bird and no single one that works everywhere. What works depends on the species, on the shape of the building, and on what you are willing to look at once it is installed.
We work out a plan for the building in front of us rather than fitting the same thing everywhere. Whether that ends up being netting, spikes or something else, we’ll walk you through why.
What we install
- Bird spikes. These stop birds perching on ledges, gutters and the high spots they like to sit on. They deter rather than harm.
- Bird netting. This closes off access to a specific place, which is usually window areas and air conditioning plant.
- Solar panel proofing. Birds nest in the gap under panels, which does damage and costs you efficiency. Mesh closes the gap while still letting air move through, which matters more than people expect.
- Reflective deterrents. These disorientate birds visually without hurting them, and they work where there is a flat surface to land on: flat roofs, open spaces, terraces.
- Bird lice treatment. The problem that arrives with the birds, and the one that needs treating whether or not you proof the building afterwards.
How the job runs
- Inspection. We go over the property to find the nesting areas and work out how far it has gone.
- The plan. Usually a mix rather than one product, because different parts of a building need different answers.
- Installation. Proofing goes into the places that are actually being used to get in, which is not always where you would guess.
- Follow-up. We come back and check the measures are still doing their job.

What kinds of bird control do you offer?

How do I stop birds nesting under my solar panels?
A durable mesh around the gap, fitted so air still circulates properly under the panels. It is made for exactly this and it is the one job we get asked about most.
Will spikes make my house look terrible?
We use discreet spikes and fit them so they do the job without being the first thing you see.
Is it safe around children and pets?
Yes. The products are non-toxic and everything is fixed down properly.
How long does it last?
Years, with a bit of maintenance. Proofing is a one-off job in a way that spraying is not.
Do you do commercial buildings?
Yes, and a good deal of the bird work we do is commercial. We’ll put together something that fits the building and the budget.
What does it cost?
The lice treatment is priced below. Proofing depends on how bad it is and what the building needs, so that gets quoted after we’ve looked.
Do you come out urgently?
Yes, particularly where birds are causing real damage or where there is a bird lice infestation in the house. Those don’t wait well.
How do I keep them out of the roof?
Seal the entry points and back that up with a deterrent such as netting. Keeping the roof closed is what stops it recurring, and it keeps the rats out too.

Spray plus ULV fogging. Closing up to three holes inside the roof is included, and any after that are R29 each.
