5 Questions About Flea Control in Port Elizabeth

If you are finding fleas in the house, the first question is often whether cleaning the carpets will sort it out. We need to look at the property, where the animals spend time and what is already being done about the pets themselves.

Here are five questions to discuss before a True Clean flea treatment in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha.

1. How do you work out where treatment is needed?

Tell us where you are seeing fleas and whether animals live at the property. We ask where the dogs sleep and rest, including their regular spots outside.

Animal bedding and frequently used resting areas help guide the inspection. The work may need to cover more than the one room where you first noticed the problem.

If you are unsure what pest is present, say so. A report of being bitten does not identify the cause by itself. We need to establish the problem before choosing the treatment.

2. Does treating the house also treat my pets?

No. Our service treats the property. Your cats and dogs need suitable flea treatment separately, following advice from your vet.

Tell us what has already been done for the animals and when. That helps us discuss how the property work fits alongside it.

Do not assume that a product used around the house is suitable for use on an animal. Keep the two parts of the job separate and follow the instructions for each.

3. What should I do before you arrive?

Pick up toys and unnecessary loose items from the floor so we can reach the areas that need treatment. Tell us about spaces that are difficult to access and where the animals spend most of their time.

We will discuss arrangements for people and pets during the work, including when treated areas can be used again. Mention other animals, such as birds or fish, before the visit so their arrangements can be considered too.

If you also want carpets or upholstery cleaned, discuss the sequence with us before booking. Washing and pest treatment need to be planned together.

4. Why is there a follow-up?

Our usual flea service includes a follow-up about seven days after the first treatment. It gives us a chance to assess the remaining activity and carry out the next part of the work.

Some customers notice a change quickly; other properties take longer. A good result at one house does not establish a fixed deadline for another.

Tell us what you are seeing between appointments and where. We can use that information when we return rather than rely only on how the property looked during the first visit.

5. Can I wash the floors or vacuum afterwards?

Ask for the cleaning instructions for the treatment used at your house. Washing treated surfaces can interfere with the work, so we will explain which areas to leave and when to clean them before the follow-up.

Our usual aftercare distinguishes between wet washing and dry cleaning such as vacuuming or sweeping. Follow the instructions given for your booking rather than taking a floor-washing interval from someone else's treatment.

If something needs cleaning sooner, contact us. We can discuss that area and how it affects the plan.
